Structural Optimization of the Reed-Type Valve with Elastic Energy Storage in Rotary Compressors
The reed-type valve is a critical component of rotary compressors, with the design and dynamic characteristics of the valve plate being crucial for enhancing compressor reliability. This paper develops a dynamic model of the reed-type valve based on elastic thin plate vibration theory, incorporating the effects of viscous forces, and analyzes the dynamic behavior of the reed-type valve during the operation of a scroll compressor. This study focuses on optimizing key design parameters of the reed-type valve, such as valve lift, curvature of the lift limiter, and lift limiter length. The influence of critical parameters in the reed-type valve performance are analyzed and experimentally validated, especially the length and curvature of limiter. The experimental results indicate that reducing the limiter length and increasing the curvature can enhance the reliability and energy efficiency of the rotary compressor’s elastic energy storage reed-type valve.
