Property Examination of Reliable Sensing-and-Control in a Home Energy Network based on Time Coordination
Energy sensing and control are two major activities for the smart energy management in a smart home. The activities of sensing and control co-exist, but may have different requirements on communication quality and wireless resources in terms of reliability and delay. However, few of conventional studies have carried out theoretical studies on the property of efficient packet delivery in the paired sensing-control operations. To address this issue, this paper examines the properties of time coordination mechanism for the delivery of sensing-control packets. We examine the packet contention effectiveness and coordination overhead in sensing and control activities. The examination results show that the time coordination for the sensing and control packets improves the efficiency of the media contention in packet delivery and reduces the control overhead.
