INEFICÁCIA DAS MEDIDAS PROTETIVAS NOS CRIMES DE FEMINICÍDIO
Gender inequality, the patriarchal system, and the submission of women—these are the perfect representation of why so many women are still being killed in our country. The country has made progress in legislation on this issue but has yet to establish effective mechanisms to eliminate inequality between men and women, which would consequently break the cycle of violence, still seen as a means of controlling relationships. The system's reluctance to acknowledge the lack of practical measures to curb violence causes many women to remain trapped by their partners, clinging to the excuse that "it was just a slap, he’s not a bad person."
