Ante la humanidad desnuda. Una reflexión sobre la condición marginal del migrante desde el concepto de rostro de Max Picard

The article proposes an analysis to understand the figure of the migrant and hospitality from the concept of the human face of the Swiss philosopher Max Picard. Although the topic of migration has been debated from diverse perspectives, whether from political philosophy or multiculturalism, it lacks an approach from an ethical and anthropological vision. For this, we turn to Max Picard’s personalist proposal, because the philosopher highlights in his work the danger of forgetting the fact that the human person has a face. The migrant is seen in our societies as a marginal being. Marginality is indifference to the face and, therefore, indifference to the imprint of the sacred in the human person. This gives rise to discrimination, depravity of human rights, vulnerabilities, and abuses against those who do not want to be seen.
