“Una educación muy distinta”. Algunas reflexiones en torno a las ideas educativas de Simone Weil

In this article we present a reading of Simone Weil’s educational ideas, identifying some central elements of her educational thought against an education that can promote a fragmented human being disconnected from his different dimensions and from the world in which he lives. Elements like the study and its spiritual dimension, the importance of attention, some anthropological ideas, and the contribution of her experience as an educator to her work are discussed. Next, we show how the concept of rootedness (enracinement) allows us to think an education that, taking an anthropological position related to transcendence, addresses the need for the community to ensure its members a real and active participation in social, cultural, and spiritual life, being an effort to rediscover a set of moral, intellectual, and spiritual roots for the human being.
