Aufklärung, Öffentlichkeit und Pädagogik
Abstract Enlightenment, Public and Pedagogy Education and the public are inextricably linked. The public use of reason demanded by Kant not only requires free access to knowledge, but also an audience that can examine the validity claims of the statements. As public institutions, educational institutions such as schools and universities are just as involved in the process of enlightenment as scientific publication organs, which guarantee that a learned public can form in the name of political freedom and democracy. How fragile this connection can be is shown not only by the suppression of unpleasant positions from scientific and public discourse, but also by the marginalization of entire groups of people who are not heard or taken into account.
