ON THE SPECTRAL STABILITY OF CNOIDAL AND SNOIDAL PERIODIC WAVES OF THE NONLINEAR WAVE EQUATION

We study the spectral stability of periodic traveling wave solutions of the cnoidal and snoidal type for the nonlinear wave equation. First we need to obtain the required spectral information about the operator of linearization. Then we investigate the index of stability and evaluate some quantities.
