IMPACTO DA HEMODIÁLISE NA QUALIDADE DE VIDA DE PACIENTES JOVENS ENTRE 15 À 30 ANOS
Chronic kidney disease is a condition that affects millions of people worldwide, and young people between the ages of 15 and 30 also face the challenges of this condition. When the kidneys fail irreversibly, hemodialysis becomes a vital necessity, but the treatment can profoundly affect the lives of these patients, interfering with aspects such as quality of life, mental health, physical development and social relationships. This study seeks to understand how these young people cope with hemodialysis, exploring not only the challenges, but also strategies that promote better adaptation. Using a detailed review of the literature, the research analyzed both the physical and emotional aspects of these patients, observing their social and family interactions. At the beginning of treatment, many young people report feelings of fear and uncertainty, especially due to the disruption to their routines and the interruption of daily activities such as school, work and socializing. However, over time, a significant transformation was noted: patients began to introduce hemodialysis into their lives in a more balanced way, although mental health still requires ongoing attention to avoid the development of depression and isolation. The conclusion indicates that, in addition to physical care, emotional support is essential. Health professionals must provide a welcoming environment and personalized support, helping these young people understand their condition and maintain a good quality of life, focusing on strengthening resilience and caring for mental health to promote full and healthy development.
