Evaluasi Penggunaan dan Potensi Interaksi Obat pada Pasien Gangguan Tiroid

Abstract: Thyroid disorders are diseases that occur when the thyroid gland undergoes changes in shape (goiter or nodules) and function (hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism). Rational drug use must be appropriate in terms of indication, patient, drug, and dose. Drug interactions are one of the issues that affect the success of therapy and have the potential to cause therapeutic failure. This study aimed to evaluate drug use and the potential for drug interactions in patients with thyroid disorders. This was a descriptive and observational study with retrospective data collection from medical records of 52 patients with thyroid disorders at Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital who met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that the evaluation of drug use in patients with thyroid disorder according to the criteria: appropriate patient 100%, appropriate indication 100%, appropriate drug 95.15%, and appropriate dose 88.46%. There were two potential interactions with mild and moderate levels. In conclusion, drug use in patients with thyroid disorders is appropriate in terms of patient and indication, with minimal potential for drug interaction events.
