Full Life Cycle Economic Analysis of Flexible Retrofit of Thermal Power Units Under New Power System
In recent years, with the development of UHV power grid and the large-scale grid-connection of new energy sources, the structure and operation characteristics of the power system have undergone major changes, posing new challenges to the safety and stability of the system, and traditional thermal power units are facing the pressure of being crowded out of the output space and early retirement. Adding phase modulation function to thermal power units through flexible transformation has become an effective way to improve system voltage stability and promote the development of thermal power plants. In this paper, the economy of flexible transformation of thermal power units is analyzed in detail from three stages of manufacturing, operation and scrapping during the whole life cycle of thermal power units. The results show that the modified thermal power unit can participate in both the electricity energy market and the auxiliary service market, and the equipment utilization rate and income are greatly improved. At the same time, it is found that by providing reactive power compensation, the phase modulation transformation of thermal power units can maintain the voltage stability of the system, reduce the network loss, and is more economical than the new modulation camera. Therefore, the flexible transformation of thermal power units is an important measure to realize the safe and stable operation of the new power system, and has significant economic benefits and wide application prospects.
