Heat‐driven stress: Comprehending thermal dynamics in solid disks with varying different densities
Abstract This study investigates the stresses and displacements in solid rotating disks under heat‐induced conditions with an emphasis on the influence of varying density. Utilizing B.R. Seth's transition theory, the research examines both compressible and incompressible materials, highlighting the role of Poisson's ratio in the distribution of stresses and displacements. The effects of density variation on circumferential and radial stresses are analyzed comprehensively. The study also investigates how thermal influence affects stress distribution and displacement within the disk, highlighting the intricate interplay of mechanical and thermal forces. These findings offer important insights for designing rotating machinery that operates under different temperature conditions and varying material densities.
