Cover Feature: Enhancing the Reactivity of an Aromatic <i>cyclo</i>‐P5 Ligand via Electrophilic Activation (Chem. Eur. J. 68/2024)
Electrophilic activation of an iron-bound cyclo-P5 ligand overcomes its aromatic stabilization and enhances its reactivity towards nucleophiles. This mode of activation grants access to unprecedented reaction pathways for the cyclo-P5 moiety. Even weak nucleophiles, such as carbenes, N-heterocyclic olefins, imines and a base-stabilized phosphinidene can thus be used in its transformation to more complex polyphosphorus architectures.
