Liquid Metal‐Enabled Tunable Synthesis of Nanoporous Polycrystalline Copper for Selective CO 2 ‐to‐Formate Electrochemical Conversion (Small 49/2024)

Electrochemical CO2 Conversion In article number 2403939, Yuan Chi, Jianbo Tang, Xunyu Lu, and co-workers developed a liquid-metal assisted approach for fabricating self-supported hierarchal nanoporous Cu (HNP Cu) electrodes. Nanoporosity, polycrystallinity, and rich grain boundaries are created for the Cu skeleton after dealloying Ga from the CuGa intermetallic crystals. Crystallite size and pore size of the HNP Cu can be tailored through manipulating the dealloying conditions. The optimized HNP Cu converts CO2 to formate with desirable selectivity under mild potentials.
