Avaliação da qualidade de amostras de capítulosflorais de Camomila (Matricaria chamomilla L.)comercializados no município de Feira deSantana-BA

Given the broad consumer market, products of natural origin also need to be regulated for the greater safety of their users. However, even with regulations, inspection is still insufficient and in some cases even non-existent, directly interfering with the quality of these products. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the quality of samples of Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla L.) marketed in Feira de Santana-Ba, through label analysis, impurities, moisture determination and microbiological analysis. In the analysis of labels, irregularities were found in all samples in the comparison of what is recommended by the National Health Surveillance Agency-ANVISA. Regarding the presence of foreign material, all brands were in disagreement with legal requirements. Concerning the physical-chemical tests, the moisture content was observed above the ideal in two samples. Regarding the microbiological evaluation, considerable variations were found and above the values allowed by the monograph of the plant. With this, they indicate the need for greater inspection actions in quality control, production and marketing, in order to have better safety for users, since the lack of quality of these products can harm health.
