Restoration Strategy of Distribution Network with Collaborative Operation of Multiple Distributed Generators under Lightning Weather Conditions

In the event of a major blackout caused by extreme weather events such as lightning strikes, distributed generators can be utilized to restore critical loads before the main grid resumes power supply. This paper proposes a strategy for restoring critical loads in a distribution network involving mul-tiple distributed generators under lightning weather conditions. Firstly, a method based on Latin hypercube sampling is proposed to calculate the number of distribution line trips in a specific area under lightning weather. Subsequently, a fault restoration decision model for the distribution network under line trip failures is established, which is formulated as a relaxed mixed-integer second-order cone programming (MISOCP) problem. This formulation allows for easy resolution using off-the-shelf optimization tools. The proposed method determines the restored topology, the critical loads to be restored, and the power output of the distributed generators. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through numerical simulations on the modified 32-bus test system.
