Efficient Infrared Radiation Source System Architecture and Performance Evaluation for UAV Platforms

This paper presents a multi-band infrared radiation source system suitable for UAV platforms. The main purpose of designing this system is to meet the demand for synchronized observations of short-wave, mid-wave, and long-wave infrared bands by photoelectric theodolites. Through theoretical calculations, the ideal radiation temperature is determined to be 800°C, and a high-brightness radiation surface with an area of 8000 \(m{m}^2\) is designed. The system employs alloy resistance wires and utilizes a combination of high-emissivity aluminum oxide ceramics. A windproof cover made of zinc sulfide glass coated with a high-transmittance infrared film significantly reduces heat loss in high-altitude environments. The design of a pointing gimbal further expands the detection range of ground-based equipment and enhances the flexibility of the system. Finally, the system underwent thermal management analysis using Newton's law of cooling, fully verifying the feasibility of the design. This study provides a new approach for the development of efficient infrared radiation sources and lays a theoretical foundation for their optimization in practical applications. It can provide technical references for the design of other high-performance photoelectric detection systems, holding significant importance.
