Study of long-wave infrared quantum cascade lasers combination
Long-wave infrared quantum cascade lasers can reach high electro-optical efficiency, small weight and high reliability, which have potential applications in scientific research and military fields. The output power of single quantum cascade laser device is limited, which cannot meet the requirement. Laser beam combination is a principal approach to enhance the output performance of lasers. In this paper, A kind of long-wave infrared quantum cascade laser combination module is proposed. This module is designed with three laser devices by spatial beam combining. Optical, mechanical and thermal simulation results show that this laser module can realize stable and reliable operation. The prototype of Long-wave infrared quantum cascade laser module is developed, the maximum output power of module is 1.88W, and the maximum electro-optical efficiency is 5.19%.
