A Time-Lapse, Multi-Component (9C4D) Seismic Data Processing Flow, Vacuum Field, New Mexico, USA
Processing time-lapse, multicomponent seismic data requires steps to ensure repeatability. Maintaining vector fidelity in the shear wave processing is required for accurate S-wave birefringence analysis. We have developed a specific processing flow for an onshore 9C4D seismic project to monitor CO2 injection in a carbonate reservoir. An element of the processing flow is ‘Common Trace Pair’ (CTP) processing to derive and apply surface-consistent corrections between repeated surveys to remove differences in P-wave and S-wave images due to near-surface and overburden changes between survey acquisitions.
