Ethical Implications of AI in Decision - Making: Exploring Bias, Accountability, and Transparency in Autonomous Systems

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rapidly advanced to become a key component of decision - making processes in various sectors such as healthcare, criminal justice, hiring, and finance. However, as AI systems increasingly make autonomous decisions, concerns have emerged regarding their ethical implications. This paper explores the ethical issues surrounding AI in decision - making, with a focus on bias, accountability, and transparency. It examines how biases are embedded in AI systems, the challenges of holding autonomous systems accountable, and the importance of transparency in AI decision - making processes. By reviewing existing literature and case studies, this paper proposes strategies to address these challenges and ensure ethical practices in AI applications.
