Implantação da política de software livre no 1° GCC –

The use of free software in government and private organizations, is being the subject of research about its advantages and disadvantages. In this context, the objective of this article is to evaluate the financial impact of the implantation of the politicy of free software in the First Group Communications local net and Control (1st GCC), in its work program from 2010 until 2013. In the collection of the data, it was adopted a descriptive and documental methodology. Then it was made a research about the computacional park of 1° GCC situation, as well as one about prices related to licenses of softwares and technical training. In the analysis of the data, a comparison was accomplished among the total cost, using the free software, and the total cost, using the proprietary software, as standard platform of the local net of 1st GCC, used as a theoretical fundamentation TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), that is a tool used to measure the total cost of product property. From the analysis, it was possible to conclude that the free software, in 1st GCC, will impact a bigger economy in its work program from 2010 until 2013 - about 17% - in relation to the use of a proprietary software solution.
