Electrical Storm Potentially Associated With Ticagrelor: A Case Report and Literature Review
Ticagrelor is an antiplatelet medication commonly used in acute coronary syndromes, but its association with QT prolongation and torsades de pointes remains poorly understood. We present a case of a 75-year-old woman who developed significant QT prolongation and multiple episodes of torsades de pointes after switching from clopidogrel to ticagrelor post-percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Upon discontinuation of ticagrelor, her QT interval normalized, highlighting a potential link between ticagrelor and cardiac arrhythmias.
