Determination of Traffic Flow Parameters Using High-Precision Positioning System to Improve Traffic Efficiency and Safety
The article analyses the application of high-precision positioning system (HPPS) to determine the main parameters of traffic flow in order to improve the efficiency and safety of road traffic. The paper considers methods of determining the average speed, traffic intensity, density and composition of traffic flow using high-precision positioning. It describes the general principle of operation, techniques and advantages of using HPPS and technology for determining traffic flow parameters using HPPS, and further application of the data obtained for traffic optimisation. The conclusion describes the advantages and disadvantages of using high-precision positioning subsystems for determining traffic flow parameters and further development prospects.
