A Novel Transformer-integrated Power Flow Controller of Distribution Network with Hybrid Energy Storage System
To address severe transformer overload from impact loads like electric vehicles and three-phase imbalance from high-power single-phase loads, a novel transformer-integrated power flow controller with hybrid energy storage system (HESS) is proposed. First, the topology of the novel controller is studied, and the energy transfer characteristics under two typical operating conditions are analyzed. Next, the power distribution method of HESS and the control strategy of the bidirectional DC/DC converter are analyzed. Additionally, a control strategy for the grid-tied converter considering HESS is proposed. Finally, the accuracy of the proposed scheme is verified by simulation. The results show that the proposed scheme can effectively cope with the complex working conditions in the distribution network, addressing issues such as three-phase imbalance mitigation, reactive power compensation, and dynamic capacity enhancement.
