The Offshore Oil and Gas Field Power System Employs a Multi-Level Protection Strategy for Critical Nodes
The protection of critical nodes in offshore oil and gas field power systems is essential to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the system. This paper conducts a detailed analysis of the electrical equipment information of critical nodes, the models of relay protection devices, and protection setting parameters. A main topology diagram is drawn to study the protection action timing of critical nodes. Additionally, a method for online verification of relay protection settings is proposed, including verification start criteria and implementation process. Furthermore, to address the issue of protection failure under fault conditions at critical nodes, a multi-level protection strategy is developed. This strategy includes active isolation and diversified protection devices for the primary protection system, regional isolation and communication system emergency recovery for the secondary protection system, and manual intervention, remote monitoring, and emergency response plans for the tertiary protection system. Through the methods and strategies proposed in this study, the reliability and safety of offshore oil and gas field power systems can be improved, providing guidance for related engineering practices in this field.
