Stakeholder Expectations for a Medical Cargo UAV Concept of Operation
Covid 19 has highlighted an issue with the distribution of medical goods to remote locations in Indonesia. Indonesia's geographical condition and limited infrastructure in those locations was the cited cause of the issue. Medical Cargo Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) was seen as a viable solution to help alleviate that issue. To ensure that the UAV could fulfil the desired stakeholder expectations, a framework shall be used to define the UAV specifications. Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) framework could potentially guide the process to identify stakeholder expectations. The framework was implemented to derive design specifications at pre-conceptual stage. Stakeholders were identified and their needs obtained. Concept of Operation (ConOps) was generated with regards to the stakeholder needs. A Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) capable UAV was envisioned as the solution. Design specifications were derived based on the ConOps that would determine the UAV construct.
