Enhancing Music Composition with Marker-Based Augmented Reality Technology
This study describes the development of a marker-based Augmented Reality (AR) music composition application aimed to merge physical engagement with digital music production. Using AR technology, the program creates original music combining real-time scanning of physical markers-each coupled with a different audio beat. Designed using Unity and integrated with Vuforia, the program offers an immersive and simple interface that lets users with different musical knowledge create music via physical interactions. The ideal balance of AR and audio processing in the application provides a fresh way for music production, therefore enhancing accessibility and appeal. Emphasizing the potential of the instrument to change the way music is produced and experienced, the paper addresses conception, design, construction and instrument testing. The results show that, especially in interactive music composition, this creative exploration tool not only improves but also highlights the great artistic possibilities of AR technology. Investigated also are future advancements and possible uses for AR-based creative tools, therefore indicating a greater range of AR-based creative instruments.
