Robust H2/H∞ TS fuzzy controller design for wind turbines with doubly-fed induction generator

This study examines a wind turbine system equipped with a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) that is subject to various disturbances and modeling uncertainties. Addressing these challenges necessitates a robust control strategy. The mixed $\mathrm{H}_{2} / \mathrm{H}_{\infty}$ robust controller is highlighted as an effective solution, offering resilience to unknown disturbances and maintaining an optimized control effort. Given the nonlinear nature of DFIG models, this research employs the TakagiSugeno (TS) fuzzy modeling technique to simplify the system into linearized subsystems suitable for controller design. By applying this robust control strategy, the proposed approach ensures improved system performance under diverse operating conditions. Simulation outcomes confirm the method’s effectiveness in achieving stable and reliable operation.
