IoT Enabled Waste Fire Pollution Mapping
The increasing occurrences of waste fires poses a significant environmental threat, deteriorating air quality and increasing global pollution levels. This research focuses on developing an advanced IoT-enabled device to detect waste fires and analyze the concentration of gases released during combustion. The primary goal is to predict the extent of pollution caused by waste fires in specific localities, providing real-time data monitoring. Given the critical nature of increasing pollution as a global issue, waste fires are substantial contributors. The IoT device is strategically deployed in fire-prone areas, continuously monitoring concentrations of key air pollutants such as CO, CO2, CH4, and PM2.5. The collected data undergoes comprehensive analysis to forecast potential pollution increases, with accuracy validated by nearby Air Quality Monitoring (AQM) stations. Using ARCGIS software, the data is mapped to provide a visual context for pollution levels, significantly enhancing the clarity and efficacy of the research findings. This integration aids in understanding the geographical distribution of pollution and serves as a valuable visual tool for conveying the extent of pollution in different locations.
