Novel Deep Learning Approaches for Automated Taxonomic Identification of Plant Species of the Western Ghats Region

This research study introduces two innovative deep learning models inspired by convolutional neural networks, designed to identify various plant species based on the unique characteristics of their leaves. Additionally, the paper discusses the development of a new dataset specifically for plants native to the Western Ghats region. The models draw inspiration from pre-trained architectures like VGG16 and AlexNet. A comparative analysis of the performance of these methods is also provided.
