Experimental Determination of the Effectiveness of the Lane Support System
The classification of lane support systems (LSS) is considered. An overview of LSS test methods is given. The results of the LSS system efficiency assessment on a straight section with intermittent road markings are presented. The test method is developed based on the EuroNCAP protocol. The experimental study was performed on a Nissan Pathfinder R53 equipped with the Propilot driver assistance system. A description of the vehicle LSS system operation is given. Vector Informatik GmbH equipment was used to collect test data. The tests were performed at the NAMI test center. Evaluation indicators of LSS efficiency are proposed. A graphical recording of vehicle motion parameters in a typical test maneuver is presented.
