Reduction of the Transmission Rate of Sound Broadcasting Signals Based on their Modulation Representation
A method for reducing the transmission rate of sound broadcasting signals (SBS) is considered, based on the use of modulation parameters of these signals. Proposals are being developed to improve the accuracy of isolating two of its modulation parameters from the SBS – the Hilbert amplitude envelope and the instantaneous frequency. The features of the selected modulation parameters and their significant differences from the initial SBS are shown. A method is proposed to eliminate redundancy from SBS, carried out on the basis of stepwise modulation decomposition of these signals. The features of using the modulation method of decomposition in relation to broadband broadcast signals are considered. It is shown that the modulation representation of wideband SBS can significantly reduce the transmission rate of these signals.
