From Pressure Measurements in an External Cabinet to Pressure Inside Arcing Chamber
We describe a system-level model that is used to deduce the pressure inside the arcing chambers of a short-circuit current breaker during three-phase tests. This model uses as input the pressure measured inside the enclosure. The results of our model are validated with (innovative) three-dimensional hybrid magneto-hydro-dynamic arc simulations and experimental tests. We show that our model is attractive to estimate the arcing chamber pressures during three-phase tests, where multiple poles are mounted next to each other and therefore difficult to access.
