Attenuated Total Reflection Fiber Probes for Real-Time Measurements in the Mid-Infrared Range
The article discusses the possibility of using fiber-optic probes with attenuated total reflection (ATR) crystals to study substances in liquid and gaseous phases in the mid-infrared (mid-IR) range. This attachment allow real-time in-situ measurements to be performed in a wide temperature range without sample preparation. The operating principle of the ATR technique is described. The comparative analysis of the crystals and waveguides materials for the mid-IR range is performed. The fiber-coupled Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer is proposed.
