A Web-based Tool for Predicting Software Development Effort

Software development effort prediction is an important issue in the achievement of successful software project management. We develop and present a free prediction tool, SDepT (Software Development effort prediction Tool) in this paper. SDepT implements hybrid regression for predicting the necessary development effort of the current progressing software project. It has attractive features such as twofold, diverse, web-based, user-friendly, and open-source. The open-source nature allows further specified need in the users situations.
