Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography Directed Transpapillary Pancreatic Duct Stenting for Disconnected Pancreatic Duct After Pancreatic Enucleation
circumscribed pancreas replaced by fat tissue with high signal intensity on T1and T2-weighted images, which is suppressed on fat-saturation sequences.Postcontrast images display enhancement of preserved normal parenchyma and unenhanced fat tissue. On MRCP images, the pancreatic ductal system is expected to be normal. 3 In our patient, although the main pancreatic duct was in normal caliber, it showed diffuse hypointensity on MRCP images, a novel imaging finding that was not previously reported in this disease. This finding, which may be helpful in the correct diagnosis of LPH, demonstrates diminished secretion into the pancreatic ductal system indicating exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. There is no disease-specific treatment for LPH.Lifestyle modifications including a balanced diet and the avoidance of fatty foods are recommended for patients with exocrine dysfunction.
