Preparation and Luminescence Properties of Dy3+∶YAG Yellow Phosphors

A series of Dy3+ doped Y3Al5O12 (Dy∶YAG) phosphors with different concentrations were prepared by solid-state method. The absorption spectra, luminescence spectra and luminescence decay curves of the samples were measured at room temperature. The results show that all samples achieved the yellow emission with a peak wavelength of 582 nm excited at 447 nm. The absorption intensity of Dy∶YAG phosphors increased with the increase of Dy3+ concentration, while the emission increased first and then decreased. The influence of Dy3+ concentration on the luminescence characteristics of Dy∶YAG phosphors was discussed, and the reasons for concentration quenching were analyzed. The chromaticity coordinate map obtained through calculation shows that the color coordinates of all samples are located in the yellow light region. It can be concluded that the best doping concentration of Dy∶YAG is about 4%(atomic fraction).

The chromaticity coordinate map obtained through calculation shows that the color coordinates of all samples are located in the yellow light region. It can be concluded that the best doping concentration of Dy∶YAG is about 4%(atomic fraction).
