The peacemaking role of education in preventing wars on the planet

The problems of the direction and content of education, its role in the development of the individual and in the historical progress of humanity are becoming more relevant. Special attention was paid to the analysis of school subjects and textbooks on the development of students' personality. The content of education from the point of view of influencing the development of personal qualities that will contribute to the impossibility of wars on the planet is considered. Among them are the desire for beauty, goodness and truth, identification with one's own spiritual "I", moral and spiritual self-regulation, responsibility for loved ones, the country, humanity, and the planet. The idea of the need to change educational priorities to those that will make violence impossible is confirmed, which determines the need to create a universal value module of Education. The results of the study of the correspondence of the content of education to its peacekeeping function and the diversified development of the individual on the example of Primary School are given. Generalization of the results obtained allowed us to establish that for the majority of respondents, the full amount of school knowledge in adult life was not needed. The most necessary subjects in practical terms were those studied in primary school. To study the orientation of the content of school subjects and textbooks to the diversified development of the student's personality, physical development, communication development, emotional and volitional development, intellectual, creative, moral and spiritual types of development are highlighted. The analysis of the results gave reason to believe that the existing school subjects are not directly aimed at fostering universal values and do not contribute to the consolidation of peace. Attention is focused on the fact that the content of education of different nations should include the universal component of peacemaking education, which forms the highest spiritual values, including beauty, goodness, truth, and contributes to the development of personal consciousness. Its content should be based on the spiritual values of humanity, which originate from art, religion, science and folk wisdom. The development and implementation of peacekeeping education should be carried out under the patronage of such reputable international organizations as the UN and UNESCO. In the future, we are talking about systematic and holistic training courses aimed at developing the individual, in particular, those qualities that contribute to the impossibility of wars on the planet
