Robotic Quality Control of Products Made of Polymer Composite
The report considers the solution to the urgent problem of quality control of products made of composite materials with a honeycomb filler. The proposed method of thermographic control with a linear heat emitter makes it possible to examine large-sized products with a one-dimensional curvature of the surface. The movement of the heat source over the control area is carried out by a robot manipulator, and the registration of an unsteady temperature field is carried out by a thermal imaging camera from COX CG640. The informative parameters of the temperature field have been determined, which make it possible to detect subsurface defects of delamination type with the area above ∼10 mm2 for broken bonds between outer panel up to 0.5 mm thick and honeycomb filler of the material in automatic mode.
