AI-Enhanced Mixed Reality Interventions with Haptic Feedback for Hand Dexterity Rehabilitation in Geriatric Movement Disorders
This study introduces an innovative intervention that synergistically utilizes mixed reality (MR), haptic feedback, and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance hand dexterity among geriatric patients with movement disorders, particularly Parkinsonian tremors. A tailored rehabilitation regimen is created by combining MR's immersive capacities with nuanced haptic feedback and AI's data analysis capabilities. This methodology integrates ergonomic hand motion support within an MR framework, dynamically adapted by AI algorithms for predictive analytics. Interactive, gamified exercises enhance motor and cognitive functions, improving quality of life and mood. Preliminary results indicate marked improvements in hand dexterity and cognitive function. Enhanced with telehealth capabilities, the system allows healthcare professionals to monitor and customize treatment plans remotely, ensuring continuous care and tailored therapy adjustments. This initiative represents an advancement in senior care, neurorehabilitation, and assistive technology, surpassing existing models by integrating MR, haptic feedback, and AI for managing geriatric movement disorders.
