Spectral Consistency Testing for Bionic Coatings Evaluation Using Characteristic Band Information
The consistency evaluation of the spectral reflectance between bionic coatings and background entities is a crucial indicator to ensure that the coatings meet practical requirements under field conditions. This paper introduces a method for evaluating the spectral characteristics of bionic green plant coatings, and establishes a new framework for the joint evaluation of the spatial and spectral features of bionic coatings. The starting position of the red edge band, the chlorophyll response band, the “near-infrared plateau” reflectance magnitude, and the spectral slope of the red edge band is calculated and evaluated in this assessment. Based on the Euler formula and the monotonic consistency of functions, the proposed method assesses spectral features including Spectral Channel Match (SCM) and the Spectral Red Edge Absorption Depth Index (SRADI) in addition to the spatial properties of aberration and luminance contrast. Compared to typical spectrum evaluation results, the proposed method includes not only the target and background spectral trend similarity, but also the nonlinear variation region consistency. The modulation process of bionic coatings can be efficiently guided by this method.
