Designing Interfaces for Enhanced Productivity and Collaboration in Virtual Workspaces
Virtual Reality (VR) offers immersive environments that can transform how we work and learn, yet current interaction techniques often fall short in addressing user needs for productivity and collaboration. My research focuses on developing user-centered spatial interaction methods to enhance these experiences in VR, targeting three fundamental aspects of virtual workspaces: efficient document reading, collaborative learning and training, and effective group communication. Through a series of user studies and prototypes, I have explored novel interfaces for intuitive document manipulation, interactive instructional task completion, and multi-modal attention guidance in group conversations. Through these works, I aim to deepen our understanding of spatial interactions in VR and propose solutions that enhance both individual and team performance. Future directions include integrating these findings into comprehensive virtual workspace solutions and exploring cross-device collaboration in shared virtual environments.
