Effect of Fractal Geometry in Bowtie Antennas for Terahertz Applications
This paper serves as a study and exploration the application of fractal geometries in bowtie antennas for Terahertz (THz) applications, aiming to enhance gain and bandwidth. Traditional bowtie antennas are known for their simplicity and wide bandwidth, but the potential advantages of fractal modifications at THz frequencies remain underexplored. In this study, we replicated the geometry from a prior work and conducted simulation-based analysis in CST to examine key parameters such as S11, gain, radiation patterns, and electric field distribution. Our results confirm multi-band behavior and a reduction in resonant frequencies with fractalization, though no conclusive gain improvement was observed. This study provides additional insights into the performance of fractalized antennas at THz frequencies and contributes to the ongoing validation of fractal geometries in antenna design.
