Experimental Demonstration of a 400G Optical Transmission System Based on C+L Spectrum Using G.652.D Fiber and G.654.E Fiber
A 400G optical transmission system based on C4.8THz+L4.8THz band spectrum and QPSK modulation format was demonstrated experimentally for transmitting a distance of 1650km in the laboratory. G.654.E fiber and G.652.D fiber were used to transmit in this system, and the different performances of this transmission system with two kinds of fibers were analyzed. It is found that the system using G.654.E fiber has better performance compared to the system using the G.652.D fiber: 1) the system using the G.654.E fiber has smaller OSNR penalty. 2) the system using the G.654.E fiber has better suppression of power transfer caused by SRS effect. Meanwhile, a Raman amplifier was introduced into the system with G.652.D fiber, and it was verified that the Raman amplifier also significantly enhances the performance of the system.
