Digital Model of Temperatures and Stresses in the Diamond Crown During Drilling Process
A digital model of temperatures and stresses in a diamond crown under the action of force and temperature disturbances from the drilling process has been developed. By solving the problems of thermal conductivity and thermoelasticity in the finite element formulation, stress concentration zones in crown structures were identified, requirements for the mechanical and thermophysical properties of materials to ensure stress reduction were determined. It is shown that the stress state of the instrument is largely determined by thermal influences. The model can serve as a basis for digital doubles at the stages of development, production and operation of the crown life cycle.
