Augmented Reality Teaching Methods for Smartphone Coaching
We design and evaluate an augmented reality (AR) collaboration system for remote smartphone coaching. The system allows an instructor to guide a learner through a phone coaching session using AR head-mounted displays. The research evaluates the feasibility of such a system and investigates three different AR user interface designs: offline video instructions, real-time coaching through side-by-side instructions, and real-time coaching through AR overlays. Moreover, we suggest a study design to quantitatively evaluate the performance of the different coaching methods for remote smart-phone coaching.
