“From ‘What Is to What If’”: Thinking and Questioning about Canadian Theatre Review’s Next 200 Issues

In this article, I consider the future of the Canadian Theatre Review ( CTR) through Rob Hopkins’s model. Specifically, I use the future-shaping points from the International Science Council to narrow in on the future of CTR publishing. To think about the future of publishing within the context of CTR, I propose moving from ‘what is’ to ‘what if’ by imagining plausible futures for the theatre landscape in Canada.

Abstract

In this article, I consider the future of the Canadian Theatre Review ( CTR) through Rob Hopkins’s model. Specifically, I use the future-shaping points from the International Science Council to narrow in on the future of CTR publishing. To think about the future of publishing within the context of CTR, I propose moving from ‘what is’ to ‘what if’ by imagining plausible futures for the theatre landscape in Canada.
