Empresas e direitos humanos: a revogação do Dec. 9.571/2018 e os caminhos para um compliance governamental

This article intends to examine the relationship between business and human rights, with the central problem being understanding the main criticisms made of Decree No. 9,571 of 2018, as well as understanding the reasons for its repeal. Furthermore, it brings to light the understanding of the current legislation on corporate responsibility, taking care mainly of what establishes Bill No. 572/2022, currently being processed in the National Congress. Through a deductive and exploratory approach, iIt is concluded that the revocation of Decree No. 9,571/2018 was mainly due to its ineffectiveness, in addition to there being other regulations that take care of corporate social responsibility, but that Bill No. 572/2022 strengthens the necessary framework for the protection of human rights towards companies.
