Assessing the Level of Spatial Integration of Surabaya City BRT Network Plan
Bus rapid transit (BRT) is a mode of public transportation that has been shown to be effective in reducing emissions, congestion, and travel costs in numerous cities worldwide. This paper focuses on using spatial assessment-based integration to analyze the extent of BRT network plan integration in Surabaya City. This study utilizes a graph theory technique that combines route, demographic, and spatial calculation/simulation data. The spatial integration is examined in zones with dedicated lanes using the definition of bus rapid transit, which is an integrated system of facilities, services, and amenities that improve the speed, reliability, and identity of bus transit. The analysis was based on the analysis and simulation results from the feasibility study. This paper proposes an approach for analyzing the level of integration in public transportation, which has been modified from previous research. The results showed that certain zones have a high level of integration and others do not. The eastern and northwestern areas of Surabaya City have poor BRT/feeder services resulting in low integration values.
