2 Navigating triple aim for excellence: a journey of value improvement implementation in HMC Qatar

Description
The pursuit of the Triple Aim in healthcare—better health, better care, and better value—necessitates the adoption of value management methodology. Strategic leadership’s endorsement of value improvement represents a pivotal shift in organizational approach, emphasizing quality elevation, resource optimization, and cost management The aim of this work was to address the limitations of traditional cost-cutting measures by promoting value improvement, thereby enhancing quality, optimizing resources, and managing costs effectively. To achieve this, we implemented pioneering steps in value improvement, including pilot projects and comprehensive evaluations. We also engaged in spread workshops and collaborative initiatives such as the National Value Improvement Collaborative to foster organizational change and innovation. We will share teams’ performance, capacity and cost results and the resilience and adaptability demonstrated during the COVID pandemic such as Virtual collaboration and online learning sessions to sustain momentum, supported by pillars as National Value Improvement Collaboration (NVIC) coaches and Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute (HHQI) support. Embracing value improvement is essential for achieving sustainable improvements in healthcare quality and value and advancing the Triple Aim objectives.
