A novel technique for innominate artery cannulation in thoracoabdominal normothermic regional perfusion
Donation after cardiac death expands the limited donor pool in cardiac transplantation and has similar outcomes to donation after brain death organs.1-3 Two procurement methods are commonly used for donation after cardiac death organs: direct procurement with ex vivo perfusion or in situ perfusion with thoraconormothermic regional perfusion (TA-NRP), followed by cold static storage. TA-NRP offers multiple benefits over ex vivo perfusion, including the ability to assess the organ in a fully loaded state and overall cost-effectiveness.
